What's Happening at Neville Trawlers

The Coming out Party:

September '06

Introduced in 2006, the N47 Pilothouse, Hull #2, was given the prestigious Soundings Magazine 'People's Choice Award', at Trawler Fest, in Solomons, Maryland. This heavy displacement luxury trawler beat all the other notables, including Nordhavn and Kadey-Krogen, when voted on by the Trawler Fest attendees.

They loved the walk around decks, and the massive clear view pilothouse. But they also commented repeatedly on the extraordinary finish work of the interior, and cabinetry, which is solid cherry.

...And where did we find many of the Trawler Fest attendees during the show? Why, in our N47's spacious engine room, of course, which is designed to commercial standards. (Which is one reason it commands more respect than the competition.) Chuck Neville was there along with the entire Neville Trawlers team to answer questions, point out features or just stand back and quietly listen to comments of our guests.

The United States PowerBoat Show in Annapolis, Maryland in October gave us the opportunity to show off the boat to even more interested attendees. That was followed by a wine and cheese cruise for a number of interested boaters.

On the heels of the notoriety the N47 and N39 received at the Solomons Trawler Fest, PassageMaker Magazine expressed an interest in again featuring the 47 in a lengthy feature article for the January 2007 issue. (The first boat built, Carol Marie, had been the centerpiece of a story "A Family Affair" featured in their September 2005 issue.

Bill Parlatore had plenty of nice things to say about the N47 in the new article titled "Neville 47 - Making Metal Happen". He also made some excellent suggestions which we are looking forward to incorporating in future vessels.

Cruising Annapolis with guests:

December, 2006

A number of people who saw the boat at one or another of the two shows were really anxious to experience the boat underway. As a result we invited a number of couples to come with us and enjoy a day on the waters surrounding Annapolis, MD for wine, cheese, and a chance to talk boats and see the N47 put through her paces.

Events like this are a great way for us to show off the advantages of a Neville Trawler. If you are seriously interested in these boats and would like to be included in our next event, please call or email.

The Next Stop was Stuart:

January, 2007

The Neville 47 left Annapolis 47 in early January headed south out of the cold weather. Trawler Fest in Stuart Florida was the next stop for the big blue boat. The PassageMaker event was located at a beautiful resort venue. We had several days to show off the boat many new people as well as a few who had seen her at the earlier shows. Interested boaters attended from as far away as the California coast, Canada, and even Australia.

Chuck and the whole team got to spend a great deal of time talking with people about practically every aspect of the boat. We are always impressed at these events by the attendees: the questions they ask and the time they are willing to invest really getting to know our boats. Many came back many times over the course of the show.

Though there are always those new to the trawler lifestyle, many of those we talked with had a great amount of boating experience. They had truly done and were continuing to do their homework learning about their boating options. For some a Neville Trawler will be the perfect choice.
